Training Teachers: Some Problems

Abstract

Introduction:  Harry is wonderful.  Surely we all agree that to read, to talk about, to think about, to teach Harry is wonderful.  But some experiences with Harry are more wonderful than others: some workshops are more lively, some groups are more responsive, some discussions more fruitful.  Descriptions of wonderful experiences may readily be found - for example in Thinking or in previous issues of this journal.  Descriptions of the less than wonderful are not so easily come by.
